Anna Sofia McGuire is a queer latine actor, singer, and dancer who received her BFA in Musical Theatre performance from The University of Oklahoma, graduating with Honors and distinctions. In her time in Oklahoma, she performed in various productions at OU such as Grand Hotel, Cabaret (Helga), Into the Woods (Little Red), Spring Awakening (Thea), and Catherine in Pippin, as well as assistant choreographing She Loves Me and the Freshman Showcase (2021).
After graduation, she made her choreographic debut in her hometown Austin, TX at ZACH Theatre with Sound of Music before playing “Louise” in Carousel at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. She then joined the cast of Cats as her dream role of “Rumpleteazer” on the Oasis of the Seas– a role her mother played in 1990 in Mexico City.
Anna Sofia is an emerging writer who has written various plays and screenplays. In 2022, she premiered her first 10 minute play, “Docking,” at the Student Playwriting Festival at the University of Oklahoma. She also launched her first web series “The BFA’s” in the Fall of 2022, with eight episodes streaming on Youtube. Her first full-length play, “Influenced” will premiere with Co.llective Arts Productions in the summer of 2024.
Now, Anna resides in Manhattan, where she regularly writes, dances, auditions, and finds joy in improv, comedy, and collaborating with friends.
