As a screenwriter and playwright, Anna’s work is based in constructing compelling characters – whether that be theater students at a University, a wrongfully convicted Mexican nun, or a writer from Omaha stuck on a boat between life and death for eternity. The goal of her writing is to make people laugh and ask questions– not necessarily at the same time, but it’d be ideal.
Anna’s 10-minute play “Docking,” was selected for the OU School of Drama’s Student Playwriting Festival and premiered in April 2022. A short film version of her play is currently in production.
Anna just finished filming for her first web series “The BFA’s,” an eight episode YouTube comedy series about the plight of being a musical theater student at a University. In 2021, she wrote the script and received funding from the Honors college and Kickstarter to mount the production during her Senior year. She oversaw the project as writer, director, and producer and filmed eight episodes with fifteen people in seven weekends during Spring of 2022. Now, her and her team are in post-production and plan to submit to festivals before releasing the series in the Fall of 2022.
The BFA’s was a finalist in the Short/Web Series category of the Del Shores Foundation Writers Search in 2021.
